Katie Bursk

Katie Bursk, originally from Portland, Maine, moved to the bay area in September of 2002. She has been writing and playing music since she started in 1995 at the age of 16. Since arriving in California she recorded her third album The Cost of apples currently featured on the international web based music library Rhapsody. She is the first unsigned artist to be featured on Rhapsody and has reached number 13 in the urban folk category. Her music is a brand she likes to call “dark folk.” Katie is known for her haunting vocals, at times angelic and deceptive of her lyrics. She creates sardonic, sensual and at times dissonant originals about the journeys of self-doubt and regret and the complexities of human relationships.

Olga Salamanca

Olga Salamanca, origianly from the Mid-west, moved to Southern California to attend college where she began writing and playing guitar. She played her first open mic 5 years later upon arriving in San Francisco and has been a featured performer at many of the Bay Area's open mic venues.

Her music has a moody melodic feel and tone influenced by PJ Harvey, Mazzy Star, Edie Brickell, Coldplay, Radiohead, and Portishead just to name a few. She hopes that the listener feels the expression, emotion, and meaning behind each song, the way that she feels it when she sings. She recently finished recording her first full length CD for release in December!!

Sparlha Swa

Since July 2002, when Sparlha Swa first began gracing Bay area audiences with her silken melodies and powerful lyrics, she has developed a following that is rippling out in broader and broader rings around California. If you haven't yet had the blessing of hearing her music live, you can be sure that you're in for a performance you won't soon forget. Wrapping folk and Neo-Soul around subjects such as how personal, internal negativity is the root of global strife, the process of creating and performing music is a ritual for Sparlha. This 22-year-old is concerned about struggles of the world, yet she is also devoted to internal exploration and the evolution of the individual spirit.

Overcast

Paradise Hills members and long time friends, Lyman Villaraza and Lee Cabuhat from San Diego have, after many years of marinating in their own musical sauces, collaborated to produce meaningful music that fuses acoustic rock guitar
rhythms, driving groove beats and catchy melodies just too genuine to ignore. Now, with a drive to create music that will, hopefully, radiate their passion and desire to evoke thought and positive change within the listener, Paradise Hills is ready to be heard throughout the Bay Area...and far, far beyond!
